You cannot find a city to compare Dubrovnik with. Mediterranean climate gives us warm and dry summers and calm winters. South wind “Jugo” brings bad rainy weather and “Bura” brings cold air from the north. In Summer light wind “Maestral” protects us from too high temperatures, so you can enjoy Dubrovnik Tours all year around.

As yacht owners say, Croatian Adriatic isn’t comparable to other Mediterranean seas, thousands of islands, pebble and sandy beaches, hospitable coast and crystal clean sea is combined just here. In Summer sea temperature reaches 26 C degrees which is more than enough for swimming, and sharks are really rare visitors :)
Most of Dubrovnik beaches are pebble, the best known is Banje close to the Old Town. On Lopud and Mljet islands and on Peljesac peninsula you may find sandy beaches, my favourite is Sunj on Lopud island (you can reach it by a frequent boat line from Gruz harbour) It is common for people of Dubrovnik to go to the beach for 6 months in a year - the sea and air temperature are high enough to ensure you have perfect conditions for your role of a true Dubrovnik’s “Beach boy/girl” - in Dubrovnik we have only 2 periods: the one when you can go to the beach and when you can’t (guess which is better and more popular :)
Dubrovnik Summer Festival is the largest Croatian and even former Yugoslavian international cultural event. It is also one of the oldest organized cultural events in the Europe with a tradition lasting until our days.. Most of the performances are held in outdoor, unique ambiental areas. At the place where in the morning you were drinking your first coffee, or buying salad/grapes/fish from the old lady - in the evening it turns to a spectacular stage for drama or a concert. Only in Dubrovnik, ladies and gentleman.
